Follow the timing above through the machine's mixing and rising cycles.

When the second rise ends (about 2.5 hours), remove dough from machine.

Knead dough by hand and shape into loaves.

Let loaves rise for 1 hour.

Preheat oven to 425°F.

Bake for 25-40 minutes until golden brown.
💡 Cook's Notes
Total time is approximately 3.5 hours (2.5 hours machine + 1 hour final rise + baking). This method uses the bread machine for mixing and rising, but bakes in a conventional oven for a better crust.
