Mix sugar, syrup, and butter together.

In a separate bowl, beat eggs and salt together until eggs are yellow.

Pour egg mixture into sugar mixture and blend.

Add flour and seasonings (vanilla, nutmeg, ginger) and blend in.

Pour into unbaked, chilled pie shell.

Drop pecans on top and spread around evenly.

Bake at 350°F for 30 minutes, then reduce to 300°F and bake for 40-50 minutes more.

This recipe makes a deep-dish pie. **To make two full pies:** Use 5 eggs, 2 cups brown sugar, 2 cups corn syrup, 2 cups pecans, and double the seasonings. **Variations:** Some recipes call for dark corn syrup and white sugar instead Some recipes call for cooking at 350°F for 25-40 minutes total Either alternative works fine
