    Preheat oven to 325°F.

    Combine and sift flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

    In an electric mixer bowl, cream together butter, lemon oil, and sugar until light, occasionally scraping down the sides of the bowl.

    Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.

    Continue beating until mixture has increased in volume (8-10 minutes).

    With a rubber spatula, fold in poppy seeds and dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with buttermilk.

    Spoon batter into a buttered rosette or bundt pan.

    Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    Cool in pan for 5 minutes, then remove.
