Instructions

    Preheat oven to 325°F.

    Place pie crust into a 10-inch glass pie pan or iron skillet and dust with 1 Tbsp confectioners' sugar.

    Whisk eggs until frothy, then whisk in brown sugar, white sugar, melted butter, chopped pecans, flour, milk, and bourbon/vanilla.

    Pour mixture into prepared pie shell.

    Arrange pecan halves on top in a pattern if desired.

    Sprinkle a layer of Demerara sugar over the top for a glazed crust.

    Bake at 325°F for 30 minutes.

    Reduce temperature to 300°F and bake for another 30 minutes.

    Turn off oven and let pie sit inside with door closed for 3 hours.

💡 Cook's Notes

People loved the crusty Demerara sugar touch as much as anything - good crunch. This is also not as sweet as a Karo syrup pie.
