    In a 4 qt Dutch oven, brown beef and pork. Drain off fat.

    Blanch fresh vegetables in microwave until steamy and tender.

    Add beans (undrained), tomatoes (undrained), vegetables, and seasonings to the pot.

    Cover and simmer for 1 hour, stirring frequently to avoid scorching.

    Ladle into soup bowls over rice if desired, and top with cheese and/or sour cream.
