    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Cook the green beans in a saucepan according to package directions, then drain well.

    Place beans, chopped bell pepper, toasted almonds, and 1/3 of the fried onions in a casserole dish.

    In a separate bowl, mix broth, soup, pepper, salt, and lemon juice until well blended.

    Pour the soup mixture over the beans and gently stir to incorporate.

    Bake at 350°F for 35 minutes.

    Sprinkle remaining onions on top and return to oven for another 5 minutes, or until top onions are nicely toasted.

💡 Cook's Notes

Can be prepared and 3/4 cooked a day ahead, then allowed to rest overnight in refrigerator to permit flavors to meld. Place back in hot oven an hour before planning to serve to bring contents back up to bubbling temperature; add and toast the top layer of onions, and serve.
