    Butter a 14" gratin dish and arrange potatoes and apples in standing rows.

    Sprinkle with nuts.

    Make the sauce:

    Pour sauce over potatoes and apples.

    Bake in middle of oven for 30 minutes, basting occasionally.

💡 Cook's Notes

Can be made a day ahead and refrigerated covered. To reheat, bake uncovered at 400°F for 40 minutes, basting occasionally.
